New Early Childhood Communication Toolkit

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is excited to share a new early childhood communication toolkit. This toolkit offers social shareables, posters, videos, and graphics to promote shared messages for pediatricians, early childhood partners, and legislators. Early childhood is our greatest opportunity to improve lifelong health and well-being. Relational health, brain development, and physical and social emotional development are critical drivers to improving future well-being. Supporting children and their development is a shared goal of pediatricians and early educators, maternal and child health providers and advocates.

EC-PBIS Updates

The Pyramid Model Implementation Data System (PIDS) has launched through the Iowa Department of Education. This system supports an infrastructure enabling data-based decision making at all levels of the system; individual child, classroom, program and state level data. If your program has gone through Program Wide Cohort training and you are continuing to collect implementation data and are interested in this system please contact Melanie Reese,

The PW-PBIS application is now open for programs who are interested in beginning cohort training in January 2022. We know that there are changes coming with IQ4K and wanted to open up training to assist if programs were interested in beginning January. Please see information on our website, click the fill out application link for more information about this process.

This new training is on Iowa Learning Online Professional Development and credits for an hour of DHS training. It provides a good introduction to the Program and describes the application process.

IDPH Wants Your Feedback

Take a quick 10 minute anonymous survey to help the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) identity strategic areas to improve access to data on the Iowa Department of Public Health Tracking Portal and enhance your user experience.

The survey is divided into sections based on which stakeholder group you identify with and asks questions about your familiarity with the Tracking Portal and about your preferences in receiving and disseminating data.

The survey also asks questions about:

  • your current and anticipated data needs,
  • how you communicate data, and
  • if you are familiar with data sharing policies.

Again, this survey is anonymous, so please feel free to be candid in your responses as the results will be reported in aggregate, and you will not be identified.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance! Click here to take the survey. We ask that the survey be completed by October 18th.
