EXCITING News from the WAGE$ program
Iowa AEYC WAGE$ Counselors are preparing to do the first round of confirmation calls to verify employment before August checks are sent. The WAGE$ program is paying almost as many people as were paid in all of the last fiscal year and spending as much as the entire last fiscal year’s budget. IowaAEYC can’t wait to get checks in the mail and reward the early care and education providers for their hard work!
Please continue to spread the word about Child Care WAGE$ IOWA and encourage anyone you know in the early care and education workforce to apply or to contact the IowaAEYC office with any questions by email email@example.com or phone 515-331-8000.
Save the Children Action Network: Advocacy Training Series
Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) is in the middle of a three-part summer advocacy training series. This series is designed to equip people to confidently use their voice for kids. Learn how to hold policy makers accountable and speak confidently about issues that impact children like ending childhood hunger, accessing affordable, quality child care.
On Thursday, August 5 at 6:30 pm, join SCAN volunteer Cathy Meyer for Secrets to upping your advocacy game and getting elected leaders to listen.
On Thursday, August 19 at 6:30 pm, join SCAN volunteer Tiffany Welch for How to grow the movement for kids: how to make advocacy fun and how to invite friends.
Can’t make both? That’s okay! Each training is designed to build off the previous one, but can also be attended as a stand-alone.
